![]() ![]() Now for a bigger complaint, the Cabo San Lucas airport was a disaster. ![]() Since its establishment as Southwest Airlines by Herb Kelleher Rollin King in 1967, the company has survived many ups and downs, including a recession and every airline industry downturn without having to layoff a single employee. The flights were fine and on time, but really? Dozens of flies? The flight from Chicago to Denver was so bad we couldn't sleep because we were being bitten in our sleep and being woke up! When we told the flight crew they just laughed and kept their loud conversation going! It was the most annoying flight ever! This one flight crew woman in the front area(I sat in row two) did shut up for the whole trip, and when the passenger two seats over from me said something, she got an attitude big time! Almost threatening. It started out as a low-cost airline which has seen tremendous success year after year. Well I have been a customer of Southwest forever! But the amount of flies both on the flight from Chicago to Denver and the flight from Denver to Cabo San Lucas was ridiculous. Southwest Airlines was founded on innovative ideas, grounded by inspiring people, and has always been driven by the desire to make a. Maybe not their responsibility? Probably not flying Southwest again regardless of the reasonable fares. Flight attendants: I am not sure what the job description states but passengers were allowed to move pretty freely about the cabin (not just to the lavatories) while the seat belt sign was on. Con: While the number of snacks you are allowed seems generous, they were all salt, carb and fat heavy - nutrition was not considered. Be aware that A, B, C group assignment are based upon cost. I just am not a fan of first come first served. Skytrax, which publishes certified airline ratings, gives Southwest a rating of 4 out of 5 stars based on the quality of its staff and services, including cabin comfort and cleanliness. For this segment of my trip this moved me from 47th to 70ith+. Be aware that this assigned group position did not count the pre-boarding passengers or any passengers classified as "thru" passengers. I suppose it did as I was in the A group but still with a position of 47th. I paid for the early bird check-in option in the hope that it would improve my seat choice options. Pros: 2 checked bags free lower fares than competitors. Flight was full, customer service was great, flight staff was nice and friendly. This was not my first trip on Southwest but it was by far the most disappointing.
